I have little desire to even go to the theatre anymore these days, unless a movie, like Avatar 2 is presented in 4D or 3D. I actually cannot wait to see where Nintendo takes their movies in the future, and hopefully, a sequel comes sooner rather than later. I walked out of the theater thoroughly impressed, and as for someone who is wayyy too cynical when it comes to movies, I think that's a great thing. But as a whole, the great animation, amazing references to both Mario games and other Nintendo IP, the Star Fox easter egg, in particular, was awesome and a really solid composed soundtrack put it over the top for me. Blue Sky? Really? The movie would have been much better without it. Also, what was with the licensed music? Holding Out for a Hero and Mr. It's not groundbreaking by any means the story is really basic, the humor is alright at best, and some of the voice acting was pretty boring.

It felt like something that Miyamoto desired to work on, and this was sort of a fulfillment of his creation in a way. I genuinely thought it was just gonna be another garbage Illumination film, like the ones they've been churning out forever, but I really saw the passion behind it. Wow, I just got back from the theater, and man, that was way better than I was expecting it to be.
